Thank God You're Here!

So has anyone been watching this new improv showcase? I've been watching it since day one and I've been hooked: David Allen Grier has always been a favorite of mine, and not to mention the fact that Dave Foley is Canadian that's a great hosting pair right there. So far, out of all the guests, Richard Kind has made me laugh the hardest, with Edie McGlurg and Mo'Nique following close behind.

Hopefully some of our guys might show up on the show sometime.

That would be SWEET to have some WL magic on that show.

I could picture just about all of them on the show... except I believe Ryan retired from improv, and I don't know if Greg still does improv or not. Other than that I wouldn't be surprised if Colin showed up, or even Wayne. I'd like to see Chip, Jeff, and Kathy on the show as well but I don't think they're well-known enough to be on the show.

That would be awesome! I don't know if Greg still does improv, does anybody know? I saw him on David Letterman or some late night show a while ago... although I really don't like his standup that much.
But, really, I can't wait to see where this Thank God You're Here show goes. Hopefully it's a success because we need more improv on tv, these days.

I noticed TV improv has kind of resurfaced lately, back in November, TBS aired a special called Puppet Up! UNCENSORED where a bunch of puppets played by some Muppeteers from the Jim Henson company would act out improvised sketches based on audience suggestions. Patrick Bristow was the host, and I think he was on Whose Line? with Brad "I'm a ham" Sherwood.

A lot of people would disagree, but I say improv's been dead ever since Kathy stopped doing improv.

I think so, especially since she's said improv is one of her greatest passions, not to mention she's been named one of Canada's best improvisers... I just think since they restricted her so much on Whose Line? that kind of bummed her out.

MAYBE she should be given a chance on Thank God You're Here, I bet she'd be great.

Dang... the show only premiered a couple of weeks ago or so, and already we're getting reruns!

Dave Foley might the creepest old man.

No, no. I so like Canadian comedy. But the Brits are pretty damn funny. I dunno. There's good comedy and bad comedy from all countries.

I guess so... although I've always found British comedy to be so tasteless... though I have to admit, I do think it's pretty amusing that those guys consider two lesbians making out and rubbing each other's private parts family-friendly material.

But, to drive this thread back to it's original topic, a new episode will be on this Wednesday however, and the lineup including Tom Arnold and Fred Willard... you know, I don't see why people think Greg Proops looks like Buddy Holly because I think he looks more like Tom Arnold.

All I know is a couple of years ago I was casually looking at the TV and saw Tom Arnold and I was like "hey, there's Greg Proops!" but I found out it was Tom.
